New To Padel?

Padel is the world’s fastest-growing racquet sport. It's fast paced, social, and easy to pick up from your very first rally. If you are new to the game, continue reading to give you everything you need to know to start your padel journey.

The Rules of Padel

Padel combines the best elements of tennis and squash. It is fast, intuitive, and played in doubles for maximum camaraderie.

Court & Doubles Format

Padel is traditionally played as doubles (2 vs 2) on an enclosed turf court (10m x 20m) surrounded by tempered glass walls and steel mesh fencing. The net separates the two teams at the center.

The Underhand Serve

All serves are hit underhand at or below waist level. The server bounces the ball once behind the service line and hits diagonally into the opponent's service box. The ball must bounce in the box before hitting any glass. If it hits the wire mesh after bouncing, it is a fault.

Playing Off the Glass

The ball can only bounce once on your turf. Once it bounces, you can let it rebound off the back or side glass walls before hitting it back! You can also hit the ball directly into your own glass wall to propel it over the net to the opponents.

Scoring Like Tennis

Scoring follows traditional tennis rules: 15, 30, 40, and Game. A set is won by the first team to win 6 games (with a 2-game margin or a 7-point tiebreak at 6-6). Matches are typically best 2 out of 3 sets.

Padel and Wrist straps

Padel rackets are solid composite paddles with perforated holes rather than strings. For everyone's safety on court, wearing the wrist lanyard strap is mandatory during all matches and practices.
